Gordon Richards brought off a double for his Majesty the King at the Salisbury races, winning oh Suh Chariot the seven-furlong Sarum Stakes fdr three-year fillies, and on Big Game the seven-furlong Salisbury Stakes for three-year-olds. Big Game, who is favourite for the Two Thousand Guineas and the Derby, broke the track record with 1.29 3-5.

Richards also won the Trial Stakes, riding last year’s Derby winner Owen Tudor.
