Malta’s enduring defence continues to evoke widespread expressions ol praise and sympathy. Afriong the latest messages the bfeibagured island has rechived ate two from the defenders of Krondstadt and Sebastopol. Yet another officer serving in Malta has been granted an immediate award of the D.F.C. for his successful part in offensive operations from the island. He is Pilot Officer D. O. MacDougall, who since October last year has completed several hUridred hours of night operations, flying on numerous occasions in severe weather. Pilot Officer MacDougall particularly distinguished himself during a night operation in the middle of February, when three hits were obtained On an enemy naval formation of cruisers and destroyers in the Central Mediterranean.
