ANOTHER FLAG INCIDENT AT CORREGIDOR.

Ah Army communique announced that a delayed report from India says that heavy American bombers raided docks and other military installations at Rangoon on April 29, inflicting severe damage. The American planes encountered Japanese interceptors and anti-aircraft fire, but escaped unscathed, while one enemy plane was hit. “In* the Philippine theatre gallant American soldiers again rescued the flag of Corregidor when a shell fragment struck the pole. Captain Arthur Huff, Corporal Louis Roark and Privates Roy Bailey and. Harley Leaird observed the incident and, disregarding their safety, dashed from shelter jo the hole during a ferocious air raid and shelling. They climbed the pole, repaired the halyard and restored the hag. General Wainwright awarded all four the silver star for gallantry.
