ENJOYABLE GATHERING SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED. (“Times-Age” Special.) . A very enjoyable time was spent, in the Matahiwi Hall when the residents of the district entertained Privates H. Ellison, C. Binstead, L. Johnson and A. McDonald. Cards and dancing were indulged in. Mr F. Clarke,, on behalf of _ the residents, presented each soldier with an Eversharp pencil and wished them good luck. The recipients suitably replied. The card prizes were won by Miss N. Clarke and Mi’ S. Martin, A statue waltz competition was won by Mrs Carswell and partner. The music for the dancing was provided by Mr W. Percy and extras were played by Mr and Mrs M. Peters. Mr A. Amundsen made an efficient M.C. Supper was provided by a ladies’ committee.
