Pilot Officer Gray Spenborg, aged twenty, of Auckland, has shot down four German planes in five days. He got two on the same day. He followed a Focke Wulf 190 to 150 feet, when it turned on its back and crashed. Spenborg was immediately chased by three Focke Wulfs. He used sharp avoiding action. Fortunately Spitfires came to his rescue. “I sure am grateful to those Spits,” he said. On the same evening, he shot down a fourth German.
