Mr Allen Dobey, special Assistant Attorney-General, told the Senate .Patents Committee today that the New Jersey Zinc Company had restricted the production of zind during a national acute shortage. At the same time the company had encouraged unlimited production of its own patented processes in foreign countries, including Germany. The New Jersey company owns the United States patents for a vertical retort process, which is the only practical method of obtaining a high-grade product, Mr Dobey said.
