APPEALS HEARD
SITTING OF MAN POWER COMMITTEE WAIRARAPA CASES DEALT WITH. SERVICE IN TERRITORIALS. A sitting of the No. 7B Man Power Committee was held in Masterton yesterday, to hear appeals mostly from men drawn for Territorial service in the 14th Ballot. Mr T. Jordan presided and also present were Messrs L. T. Daniell and F. Cole and Mr G. F. Whitlock, secretary and Crown representative. In the appeals mentioned below the name of the person lodging the appeal is given in parentheses: — Appeals adjourned: Allan Edwin Reid, apprentice electrician (J. Bouzaid), until May 31.
Sine die adjournments: Wilfred James Taggart, fireman (Director of National Service); Robert William Henricksen, shepherd (Native Trustee); Charles Richard Reid, fireman (Masterton Fire Board);. Morvin Edward Haughey, fireman driver (Masterton Fire Board); Henry Orvan Peters, hardware manager (W.F.C.A. Ltd), reservist to do Territorial training in August, September and October; Arthur Douglas Taylor, store manager (W.F.C.A. Ltd); William Charles Watt, moulder (J. C. Ewington).
