HOME GUARD WEEKEND ACTIVITIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance of local Home Guardsmen at the weekend. Target practice was indulged in and some remarkably good scores were registered. The shooting on the whole was most satisfactory. Red Cross Branch Formed. A branch of the Red Cross has been formed at Tuhitarata. A medical officer attends twice a month to give lectures to members. Personal. Mr F. Lovegrove, who has been confined to his bed for some days, is making good progress towards recovery. Miss Olive West, who was the guest of Mr and Mrs F. Seward, has returned to Masterton. Nurse Alma Hall has returned to Masterton after a short visit to her parents. Mrs J. Carter, who has been an inmate of the Masterton Hospital, has left the institution and is staying with Mr and Mrs Himona, Hope Street Masterton. Mr O’Brien will shortly take over the managership of the estate of the late Mr A. H. Warren. Private Douglas Kitney, who has been visiting friends in the district, has returned to duty.
