GIVEN TO STRICKEN CITV OF BATH EFFICIENT EMERGENCY SERVICES. RESCUE & SUPPLY WORK. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, April 27. The German air raid on Bath last night caused serious fires in the centre of the town. There were a large number of casualties when a bomb hit a shelter. Emergency services in the Bath area quickly went into operation. Ministry of Pensions officials from Bristol and Exeter immediately rushed to Bath, where they interviewed the relatives of victims amid the ruins and a special temporary allowance of fifty shillings was made on the spot. Mobile kitchens and canteens operating in the Bath area are supplying the needs of rescue squads, fire-fighters, first-aid parties, police and hundreds, of homeless people.
