HINDUS & MOSLEMS
MOVE FOR CO-OPERATION I IN FORMATION OF NATIONAL GOVERNMENT. MADE BY CONGRESS PARTY IN MADRAS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MADRAS, April 25. A dramatic move has been made by the Madras Congress Party toward securing a National Government. The India Party adopted a resolution calling for a consultation with the Moslem League to obtain Hindu and Moslem co-operation for that purpose. The resolution also recommended that the Moslem League’s claim for separation of those provinces with a Moslem majority should be granted if the league persisted in it, when the time came for framing India's new Constitutions.
A Calcutta message states that the Congress President. Maulana Azad, expressed pain and surprise concerning the Madras Congress Party resolution. He also rebuked Mr Rajagopallachari, who was responsible for the resolution.
