MABE BY BRITISH PLANES IN MIBDLE EAST TARGETS BOMBED IN LIBYA & SICILY. FURTHER ENEMY LOSSES OVER MALTA. LONDON, April 23. Our aircraft continue their activities over the Middle East and the Mediterranean. On Monday and Tuesday nights our bombers attacked the harbour and other objectives at Benghazi. Night attacks were also made on the Derna, Martuba and Tmimi areas. Fighters were active in daylight in the same regions. Other bombers attacked objectives in Sicily, where aerodromes and other targets were bombed on Tuesday night. Eight enemy aircraft were shot down over Malta in raids yesterday and on Tuesday. From all operations in the Middle East, one cf our planes is missing.

Up to last night Malta has had 2148 alerts. Altogether, 453 enemy planes have been brought down for certain, 156 probably destroyed and 365 damaged.
