ANZAC DAY

OBSERVANCE IN MASTERTON TOMORROW. SERVICE AT THE PARK. Anzac Day services will be observed in Masterton and in other centres of the Wairarapa tomorrow. The service in Masterton will be held at the Soldiers’ Memorial in the Park, commencing at 10.50 a.m. Members of the Wairarapa R.S.A. will assemble at the Soldiers’ Club at 10.20 a.m. and will march to the Park, leaving the club at 10.40 a.m. The address at the Park will be given by the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich and the Rev. H. S. Kings will take the lesson. Mr H. J. Brass, president of the Wairarapa R.S.A., will place a wreath on the memorial on behalf of his association. The Masterton Municipal Band will attend.

After the service, all members of the Wairarapa R.S.A. on parade will be entertained at morning tea at the Soldiers’ Club by the Lady Liverpool Committee. In the event of wet weather the service will be held in the Municipal Hall. Y.M.C.A. GYMNASIUM CLASSES. Owing to Anzac Day being observed on Saturday, the holding of the Y.M.C.A. junior girls’ and boys’ gymnasium classes will be postponed to Saturday morning, May 2. POST OFFICE HOURS. On Anzac Day the Post Office will be closed in all branches, other than the Telephone Exchange, which will be open continuously. The Anzac Day address at Pongaroa tomorrow will be given by Mr J. Robertson, M.P.
