CHURCH OF EPIPHANY
MEETING OF LADIES’ GUILD. MRS J. G. MILLER FAREWELLED. The Church of the Epiphany Ladies’ Guild yesterday farewelled Mrs J. G. Miller, one of the earliest members, on the occasion of her departure from Kuripuni. Mrs F. Whitton, president of the Guild, presided over a very large attendance. Appreciated items were rendered by Mesdames Ferry, Edwards, Jaine and Burke. Following afternoon tea, the Ven. Archdeacon Rich paid a striking tribute to the faithful services of Mrs Miller over a long period of years, and wished her and her family every happiness in their new home. All were glad that they would still be resident in the parish. On behalf of the Guild the Archdeacon presented Mrs Miller with a beautifully bound Bible. Mrs Miller, in a happy little speech, returned thanks. The services at the Methodist Church on Sunday morning at 11 o’clock will be conducted by Mi’ C. R. Goudge. The Rev. H. S. Kings will conduct the service at 4 p.m. The service at Kuripuni will also be at 4 o’clock. Mr E. Steer will be the preacher.
