ALFREDTON
PATRIOTIC SOCIETY SUCCESSFUL GAMES NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) A successful games night, conductcd by the Patriotic Society, was held on Saturday evening. The winners of the euchre prizes were: —Ladies’ aggregate: Mrs Doyle (prize donated by Mrs Clay worth). Men’s aggregate: Mr E. Seymour (prize given Uy Mrs Harcombe). The ladies’ booby prize was won by Mrs L. Cooper, and the men s by Mr E. Anderson. The winners for the evening were: —Ladies: Mrs L.. Cooper; men. Mr A. Weston. A dinner donated by Mrs Parsonson was won by Mr J. McDonald, and realised £3. A cushion and table centre, made and donated by Miss Madge Seymour, realised £2 Bs. The cushion was won by Mr R. Low and the table centre by Mrs S. Edmonds. A cheque and letter expressing best wishes was sent to Private Harold Edmonds, who was unable to attend an evening. A piano donated by Saunders Road settlers and the school committee realised £lO. The total amount raised for the evening was £2l 12s 9d. The hostesses were Miss M. Edmonds and Mrs S. Edmonds and Mrs Mclntyre. Personal. Private S. Smith is at present home on sick leave.
