EMERGENCY WARD

NEW BUILDING TO COST £17,500. ERECTION AT MASTERTON HOSPITAL. The emergency ward block being erected on the Masterton Hospital grounds is to cost £17,500. Advice to this effect was given at today's meetino' of the Wairarapa Hospital Board. The Department of Health advised that Cabinet had approved the erection of the emergency ward block at Masterton Hospital, at a cost of £17,500, the latter to be a charge against the War Expenses Account. The Masterton Master Builders’ Association’s tender of £16.500 for the erection of the building had been accepted. The architect’s fees totalled £lOOO. The work had been given Al priority. The architect, Mr F. C. Daniell, had agreed to act as clerk of works. Every effort, it was stated, would be made to complete the building within three months.
