INDOOR BOWLS
MASTERTON CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club held its annual meeting last night there being a good attendance of members. Mr J. Fenton presided and in welcoming members said that he hoped that the season would be a successful one. In moving the adoption of the balance sheet, Mr Pickering said that the club was fortunate in having a better credit balance than in the previous season.
Mr Shaw stated that he felt sure the club would be able to continue this year, and that all the old members would renew theii’ membership. The motion was carried. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr A. W. Chapman; president, Mr C. Pickering; vice-president, Mr R. Reed; hon. vice-presidents, Messrs H. B. Thomas, A .Carstens and W. Drummond; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Leigh; committee, Messrs J. Dewar, Andrews, McFarlane, and McErlick. It was decided to open the season on Tuesday, April 21 with a pairs knockout competition. All members and inlending members are requested to be present so that rinks may be formed. Mr Pickering expressed the club's regret that Mr Fenton was leaving the district. Mr Fenton had been a very able and willing worker in the club’s interest. It was intended to make a presentation to Mr Fenton at a later date.
After the meeting members indulged in a game of indoor bowls.
