MAURICEVILLE

WOMEN’S DIVISION ANNUAL MEETING OF BRANCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Maurice-ville-Ihuraua branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held recently at Mauriceville East when Mrs W. Cheetham presided over a good attendance of members. The president’s report and balance sheet were adopted. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr A. Forsberg for having audited the books. The election of officers resulted in all officers being re-elected. Mrs Cheetham and Miss Dagg were presented with bouquets by Mrs Milner on behalf of members. Mrs Forsberg asked Mrs Cheetham to accept a beautiful bouquet of roses for Miss G. Heckler with best wishes for a speedy return to health.

The competitions resulted: —Wandering shilling: Mrs Childs. Madeira cake: Mrs A. Larsen, 1; Mrs R. Wilkin, 2. The cakes which were judged by Mrs and Miss Childs, were donated to the Y.M.C.A.

It was decided to invest £lO 10s in Bonds for Bombers.

It was decided that while petrol, restrictions last, all meetings be held at Mauriceville East.

The president thanked M-s Childs for offering her home for future meetings.

Afternoon tea was served.
