OBITUARY

MR F. C. DAVIE. The death occurred at his residence, Villa Street, Masterton, today, of Mr Frederick Charles Davie at the age of 66 years. The late Mr Davie was born in Dunedin, and in 1918 came to Masterton where he had lived ever since. He was an engineer by trade and was formerly on the staffs of Messrs T. Wagg and Co. and Messrs Thos. Borthwick and Sons, Ltd., retiring some years ago owing to ill health. He was a well known musician, and formerly played in the Kaikorai (Dunedin) and.'Masterton bands and also in local orchestras. He was a well known freemason. Possessing a genial personality, the late Mr Davie was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends who will deeply regret his death. He leaves a widow but no family. The funeral will take place tomorrow, and a service will be held at the residence at noon.
