MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SITTING IN MASTERTON. POLICE & CIVIL CASES. A sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court was held this morning before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M. Eric Ernest Skeet, of Waipukurau, was charged with casting offensive matter in the street on April 7. Defendant was fined £1 and 12s costs. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil cases:—Ernest Winhall v. John Fhysick, £34 Is lOd, costs £4 5s 6d; Major and Gooding v. V. L. Vile, £2 0s 6d, costs £1 8s 6d; H. L. Esau v. Chong Tim, £3 16s 6d, costs £1 8s 6d.
