SCHOOL COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS RECEIVED. (“Times-Age” Special. 1 ) The following nominations have been received for the Featherston School Committee: —Messrs J. W. Holland, C. C. Kenward, J. H. Higgison, C. F. Buck, R. Lett, F. A. O’Neale, S. Murphy, W. Jeffrey and N. W. Parker. RED CROSS SOCIETY EUCHRE PARTY. There was a good attendance at the euchre party held yesterday afternoon by the local sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, when an enjoyable time was spent. Mrs Baker was the winner at cards. Competitions were won by Mrs Spinks and Mrs Wakely. Donations and gifts were received from Mesdames A. Donald, G. S. Sharp, W. Feast, H. C. Hunter and Miss Card. Girl Guides. The Girl Guides have gathered and dispatched a large sack of hip berries to the Plunket Headquarters at Wellington. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs O. Rowe, have returned to Palmerston North after having been the guests of Mr and Mrs J. W. Holland. Miss Marjorie Wendon returned to Pahiatua yesterday after spending the weekend in Featherston. Engagement. The engagement is announced between Constance Barbara, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Surtees, Tauherenikau Road, Featherston, and Private Percy Trevor, youngest son cf Mr and Mrs J. G. Martin, Goodman Street, Blenheim. COSY THEATRE “POT O’ GOLD.” The brilliant musical comedy, “Pot o' Gold,” will be shown on Wednesday night. The leading roles are taken by Charles Winniger, James Stewart and Paulette Goddard.
