ANGLO=AMERICAN TALKS IN LONDON INITIATIVE NOT TO BE LEFT TO ENEMY. ACCORDING TO “NEW YORK TIMES.” (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, April 8. The “New York Times,” in an editorial, comments on the mission to Britain of the United States Army Chief of Staff, General Marshall, who has arrived in London. It says decisions of the highest importance are forthcoming in Lo'ndon and Washington, and adds that General Marshall’s flight signifies that the initia-
tive of a spring offensive will not be left to the enemy.
The discussions in London, says the papep will translate into action the plans formulated and debated by President Roosevelt and Mr Churchill. The pressure for a second front comes not only from Russia but also from Britain and America. The tide in the affairs of men is nearing the flood. “It is the hour to weigh terrible risks against the terrible danger of not taking risks,” it adds.
