FEATHERSTON
CRICKET CLUB ANNUAL DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a crowded attendance at the Town Hall on the occasion of the annual dance of the Featherston Cricket Club. The music was supplied by the Blue River Dance Band. Mr C. Buck capably carried out the duties of M.C. The supper arrangements were in the hands of the ladies’ committee. The proceeds of the dance will permit the club to invest about £lB in Bomber Bonds. The box of chocolates donated by Mr N. A. Lett and which was won by Mr N. Stevens raised the sum of £9 3s 3d for patriotic funds. Thanks are extended to all those helpers who did so much towards raising this amount. Personal. Mrs Wilson, of Christchurch, is at present visiting her daughter. Mrs R. A. Lett. Miss P. Hood, Maaterton, was a weekend visitor to her home at Kahutara. Miss Joan Dowling and Miss Phyllis Fawcett, Lower Hutt, were guests of Mrs H. Playle, Kahutara, for the weekend. Mrs Sigvertsen has returned to Eketahuna after having been the guest of Mrs Hatton for a few days. Private A. Juno was home for weekend leave. Mrs Bellamore, Wellington, was an Easter guest of Mrs J. Juno, Pahautea. Miss Agnes Hector has returned after having spent Easter at Pahautea. COSY THEATRE "MAISIE WAS A LADY.” Tomorrow night there will be presented an exceptionally good programme, headed by the outstanding comedy-drama, “Maisie was a Lady,”
in which Lew Ayres, Aubrey Smith and Ann Sothcrn have the chief roles. The thrilling drama, “Across the Sierras,” will also be shown.
