GHOST VOICE

HEARD AGAIN IN NAZI BROADCASTS. EXCLUSION EFFORTS FAIL. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 7. The ghost voice this morning returned to its interference with German shortwave transmision with one of the most successful performances it has ever made. The commentator succeeded in scoring at least 50 audible remarks in a 15-minute broadcast, and all attempts by the Germans to jam it*were in vain. A German claim about booty on the Russian front was promptly countered with the remark: “You lost 40,000 soldiers in a few days.” When the German announcer referred to the changed bombing policy of the R.A.F. the ghost voice interjected: “You whine. It is Hitler who proclaimed total war.” The Germans were also asked how India would fare under the Hitler regime.
