The Tokio official radio said that the Prime Minister (General Tojo), in a speech at a conference of technical iesearch workers, said there was impel ative need of an intensification of efforts to produce new military devices, paiticularly in respect of weapons, clothing, fodders, hygiene, transportation and warplanes. Prizes were awarded for four outstanding contributions to the war effort, including a new type of reconnaissance plane, whose brilliant performance had been proved in wai, and also a new type of gun and a special type of surface craft for landing parties. .
