BOWLING
PARK CLUB SEASON TO CLOSE ON SATURDAY. COMPETITION RESULTS. The official closing of the bowling season ■will take place on Saturday afternoon, when it is proposed to play progressive pairs, commencing sharply at 1 o’clock. Already there are a number of names on the board, and all those desirous of taking part arc urged to place their names on the board, and to be on time. The freshment committee has arrangements well in hand, and given fine weather, the afternoon’s sport should prove a fitting conclusion to another successful season. The long awaited club badges are now to hand, and have been very favourably commented upon as to their neatness and appropriateness. Spackman Cud (Colts’ singles): S. Lee beat Heath 18/10. In the final P. Thompson the promising first year player defeated G. Brown, last year’s winner, 1(1/13, after a splendid exhibition of bowling by both players, who have played consistently well throughout the season. On the 7th end the board read four all, and on the 15th it was 11 all. Kelly Cup (Colt’s pairs): The challengers, White and Davis were unsuccessful in their game with Billington and Colsen, of Carterton The game was very evenly contested until the last end when a five gave the holders the victory by 21/13. Grady Medals: Kilgour and H. Thompson were unsuccessful, being defeated by Simmons and Sorrensen, 23/20. The Carterton players took the lead early, the board reading 16/2 on the Bth end, but by the 17th the challengers were only one behind, the board reading 18/17. ■. .Ferns: Faulknor and G. Brown drew with Spackman and Bell 23/23.
