WAR IN PACIFIC
FLOW OF AMERICAN REINFORCEMENTS ENCOURAGING ACCOUNT. GIVEN BY PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) RUGBY. April 7. A Washington report says President Roosevelt met the Pacific War Council and gave its members what they described as a very encouraging review of United States reinforcements of men and equipment sent to various points in the Pacific war theatre. The War Department discloses that the United States Army Air Force, which is ferrying planes to Russia, China and other Lend-Lease beneficiaries, as well as to British and Imperial fronts, is conducting operations on a larger scale than those of the air lines of the United States. The scope of activities has been extended to include a world-wide network of communications and weather station bases.
