RACING AT MASTERTON NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS EXCELLENTLY CONDUCTED MEETING. The New Zealand championships greyhound meetting was held in Masterton at Rugby Park yesterday afternoon. There was a record crowd and dogs from many parts of the North Island comneted. Some close finishes were witnessed. The arrangements were complete in every detail and the meeting was conducted with commendable smoothnes. Mr J. H. Payton made an excellent judge, and Mr J. Hanley got the fields away in good style. The results are as follow:— Kuripuni Stakes: Mrs L. Jones’s (Masterton) Royal Silver, 1; J. Hickey’s (Hastings) Foora Vale, 2. New Zealand Championship Stakes: S. Gerrand’s Royal Routine, 1; D. Gledhill’s (Hastings) Don Salvo, 2. New Zealand Championship Hurdles: Wilson and Gledhill’s Muir of Ord, 1; W. Spring’s Ballaramaine, 2. Easter Stakes: Mrs H. Connop's (Hastings), Ambitious, 1; Don Salvo, 2. Juvenile Stakes: J. Hitchman’s (Dannevirke) Royal Magic, 1; A. F. Hare’s (Masterton) Happy Ending, 2. Victory Stakes: S. Gerrand’s Gay Crest, 1; L. Wells’s (Dannevirke) Taringamutu, 2. Maiden Hurdles: Mrs J. Kay’s. Hastings, Little Robin 1; J. Hichman’s, Dannevirke, Red Magic 2. Limit Stake: S. Gerrand’s. Masterton, Royal Routine 1; H. Fannin’s, Hastings, The Gunner 2.
