Middle East communique ? states: “Enemy aerodromes at Berka * and the harbour and shipping at Benghazi were again bombed on Saturday night. On the same night we bombed and machine-gunned an aerodrome at Martuba and attacked other objectives in that area. “Fighters shot down one Junkers 88 in Cyrenaica yesterday. “In the Jalo area, a twin-engined enemy aircraft was destroyed on the ground. “Enemy raids on Malta were continued yesterday, when our fighters shot down three Junkers 88s. Anti-aircraft guns destroyed a further one on Saturday night, while complete reports ’ of Saturday’s raids show that two additional German bombers were destroyed on that day. “Six of our aircraft are missing, but one pilot is safe.”
