" (Received This Day, 12.12 p.m.) RUGBY, March 31. “The R.A.A.F. today raided Koepang, in Dutch Timor, bombed an aerodrome and probably destroyed six enemy aircraft on the ground,” states an Australian communique. “All the Australian planes returned safely.” The communique adds details of a combat in which, during a reconnaissance, one Australian aircraft was attacked by three Japanese Zero planes. One of the enemy dived from above, one from starboard and the third "attacked from below. The Australian rear-gunner shot down one enemy fighter for certain and probably another. The pilot possibly shot down the third enemy plane. The combat lasted for twelve minutes. In spite of heavy anti-aircraft fire, the reconnaissance was completed.
