COLLECTION ON PENALTY DAY. TOTAL OF 98.3 PER CENT.

Rates collected by the Masterton Borough Council up to penalty day, Friday, March 27, totalled 98.3 per cent, as compared with 97.5 per cent last year and 96.8 per cent on the year before. The total rates struck amounted to £37,731, against £38,700 last year, and the amounted received up to penalty day was £35,505 (£36,103). Discount was allowed amounting’to £1672 (£1648) and the amount outstanding fs £647 (£943). The figures in parentheses indicate last year’s figures.
