HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a race from Napier, a distance of 125 miles. The flying conditions were poor, and as a result only three out of the eight birds liberated reached home in the time limit. The following were the placings: —J. Mayes's “Black Chief,” time, 4hrs 24 mins Gsecs, 1; L. Wickens's “Ramona,” time, 4hrs 33mins 59secs, 2; J. Martin's “The Battler,” time, shrs 40mins Isec, 3. The next event will be a teams race from Hastings.
