P. & T. SOCIAL CLUB
DANCE .IN MUNICIPAL HALL. ABOUT FOUR HUNDRED PRESENT. About 400 dancers were present at the Municipal Hall on Saturday night, when a dance was held by the P. and T. Social Club in aid of the patriotic funds. The occasion proved a notable success Barnes’s Rhythm Boys provided the dance music and the M.’sC. were Messrs H. Pratt and W. L. Butler. Extras were played by Miss Hopkins and incidental items were given by Lieut. Morrison and by a Maori pianist. Mr J. A. Betts spoke in regard to the patriotic appeal. The winners of novelty dances were: —Lucky Spot, Miss Askew and Corporal M. J. Hopkinson; lucky partner, Miss Harding and Private Richardson. Appreciation was expressed of the action of the St. John Ambulance in postponing its dance, which had also been set down for Saturday night. Members of the association attended the dance in full force,
