BALTIC RAID
MADE BY BRITISH BOMBERS LUBECK TAKES HEAVY PUNISHMENT. TWELVE OF OUR PLANES MISSING. LONDON, March 29. As part of their offensive operations last night, a strong force of British bombers attacked the German Baltic port of Lubeck, at which large quantities of Swedish iron ore are received. The port is also used for sending military supplies to Norway, Finland and Russia. It received heavy punishment and fierce fires were left blazing. Other forces attacked enemy objectives in occupied territory. From all operations 12 of our bombers are missing.
