GOLF CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Featherston Golf Club the following members were elected: Mr and Mrs Trask, Messrs A. Clelland, Nisbet, A. W. White, P. J. Adamson and T. E. Jury.

The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mi- J. W. Card (reelected); treasurer, Mr K. Allen; secretary, Mr W. H. Rowles; captain, Mr H. Lovegrove (re-elected); vice-cap-tain, Mr M. Benton. It was decided that the Management Committee be the same as for 1941 season, with the exception that Mr H. Neilson take the place of Mr M. Benton. Green superintendant, Mr W. H. Rowles; handicappers, secretary, captain and vicecaptain. It was resolved that green fees for soldiers be at the rate of Is ,per 18 holes, with the option of entering for the sWeep, with afternoon tea Is extra, general players Is 6d. It was decided that April 11 be the official opening day. Bonds for Bombers. A satisfactory response was received in connection with the sale of Bomber Bonds in Fitzherbert Street yesterday afternoon, the total being £340. The total received to date is £1470. Personal Items. Leading Aircraftman W. Sturdee arrived home yesterday from Australia after having seen action in Malaya and Singapore. Pipers Entertained. Miss Card and a band of willing helpers entertained at afternoon tea the pipers who took part in the parade yesterday afternoon. Proposed Blackout. At the E.P.S. meeting held on Wednesday night it was decided to hold a trial blackout on the Sunday after Easter, details of which will be advertised later. COSY THEATRE I “FOUR SONS.” I The programme tonight will be headed by “Four Sons,” an outstanding drama, featuring Don Ameche and Mary Beth Hughes. The associate picture is “The Return of Daniel Boone,” an exciting story in which the leading roles are taken by W. Elliott and Betty Mills.
