WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT UPPER PLAIN. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Upper Plain Women's Institute was held recently. The retiring president (Mrs G. Dagg)‘ and secretary (Mrs W. Thomas) were thanked for their services. Mesdames Tankersley and Clarke were appointed delegates to the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Federation to be held at Carterton. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: —President. Mrs C. H. Skeet; vice-presidents, Mesdames L. Tankersley and T. Taplin: committee, Mesdames W. G. Laing, E. Clement and W. Taplin; secretary, Mrs T. R. Mannell; treasurer, Mrs F. Clarke. The Institute members appreciate the kindness of Mrs Clement in allowing them the use of her home for meetings.
