DOMINION CAMPAIGN AMOUNT APPROACHING MILLION MARK. LARGE NUMBER OF SMALL INVESTORS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The total sales of Bonds for Bombers has now reached £825,501 and it' is expected that the million mark will be reached today. The large number of small investments show that the people of New Zealand in general are realising that they had to do their part in equipping the R.N.Z.A.F. The week's totals so far for the various districts as announced last night, with yesterday’s figures in parenthesis, are: —Wellington (£52,945), £106.689; Napier (£18,368), £56.362; Wanganui (£17,646), £40,151: New Plymouth (£15,128), £32,117; Palmerston North (£2.188), £54.499; Gisborne (£5962), £15,481: Nelson (£4607), £15,071; Blenheim (£5431), £15,675; Auckland (£73.320), £207.621; Christchurch (£39,278), £91.682: Dunedin (£11.227), £28,460; Gkymouth (£15,141), £26.591: Hamilton (£29,786), £59,864; Invercargill (£8459), £24,961; Oamaru (£1737), £4084; Thames (£7600), £21,576; Timaru (£8865), £20,770; Westport (£1603), £3847. Total (£337,291), £825,501. The Wellington Harbour Board has decided to take up Bomber Bonds to the value of £lO,OOO. This is the largest contribution so far received in Wellington. A Wellington factory girl who desires to remain anonymous has bought bonds to the value of £250. Other Wellington investors include: A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd., £2400, Excelsior Supply Co., Ltd., £6OO, Wellington Technical College Old Students’ Association Tennis Club, £5OO, employees of Lever Brothers, Ltd., £3OO. The New Zealand Workers’ Union subscribed £lOOO to the Bonds for Bombers Fund yesterday. In handing over the cheque Mr A. Cook, national secretary of the union, said that the national cpuncil of the union fully realised the danger confronting New Zealand, and the Government could confidently depend on the union for any further calls that might be necessary. MASTERTON DRIVE SALES NOW TOTAL £7,990. Yesterday’s sales in Masterton of Bonds for Bombers totalled 338, for a value of £3.110. This brings the total for the four days to £7,990. Results of the Bonds for Bombers drive in other Wairarapa centres up to last night were; Pahiatua, £6070; Featherston. £1520; Carterton, £1262; Eketahuna, £1274; Martinborough, £405; Greytown, £ll6. A NELSON INVESTMENT. A SUM OF £lO,OOO. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NELSON, March 26. The Nelson City Council decided tonight to invest the available moneys, approximately £lO,OOO, in the‘funds of the gas and electricity undertakings in Bonds for Bombers.
