DISORDER IN MONTREAL
DEMONSTRATION AGAINST CONSCRIPTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) MONTREAL, March 25. Youthful crowds, shouting “Down with conscription!” blocked traffic and smashed tram-car and store windows, following on an. anti-conscription mass meeting. The police prevented an attempt by groups to parade, resulting in a flurry of street fighting, in which one youth was injured. Eight demonstrators were arrested.
