WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

BIRTHDAY AT KOPUARANGA. SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Kopuaranga Women’s Institute held a very successful dance recently to celebrate its seventh birthday. The local hall was filled and excellent music was supplied by Mrs Reside and Mr H. McArthur. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr C. P. Jarrett. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Dorreen and Mi- C. C. Jackson. On behalf of the Kopuaranga Women’s Institute, Mrs Jarrett welcomed those present, and presented the trophies won during the year. The points prize for sewing was won by Miss M. Wright; the for the best ■■ bloom by Mesdames Wright and Reside (equal) and the prize in the potato growing competition by Mrs Kenny.
