RAIDS ON BRITAIN
TWO ENEMY BOMBERS SHOT DOWN ATTACKS ON DOVER & SOUTH COAST. SLIGHT DAMAGE AND FEW CASUALTIES. LONDON, March 24. _ A German raider was shot down in flames over this country last night. Small-scale attacks were made on Dover and the South Coast. Slight damage was done and there were few casualties. A later message states that a second enemy aircraft is now known to have been destroyed last night. R.A.F. bombers, escorted by fighters, attacked objectives in Northern France this afternoon. All our planes returned. Details of the operation are not yet available.
