GOLF CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Greytown Golf Club was held last evening. The president (Mr J. Kiernan) occupied the chair, and there were fourteen members present. Several apologies for absence were received. The annual report and balance sheet for the past season showed the club to be in a satisfactory position. The ranks of the male members have been depleted owing to the war, but it was felt that the club should continue to function. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to carry on but that no championships or competitions be held. It was decided to make every effort to entertain members of the armed forces. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr H. Keltie; president, Mr J. Kiernan (re-elected); vicepresidents, Messrs E. Williams and W. Pope (re-elected); committee, Messrs W. Everett, T. Gold, P. Pope, E. Maddison, G. Brunton and N. McLeod; secretary and treasurer, Mr G. Burns, club captain, Mr T. Gold; match committee, Messrs J. Kiernan, T. Gold and G. Brunton; green committee, Messrs J. Kiernan and F. C. Bunny; handicappers, Messrs T. Gold and J. Kiernan; auditor, Mr W. Tully. The opening day was left to the committee to arrange. It was decided that green fees for soldiers be Is. Three new members were elected. The trustees of the improvemeht fund were instructed to purchase 30 bonds for bombers. TOWN HALL “ROAD SHOW.” One of the most brilliant comedies ever brought to the screen, “Road Show,” will be shown tonight, with Adolphe Menj ou, Carole Landis and John Hubbard in the leading roles.
