SOME CASUALTIES & DAMAGE. ENEMY FIGHTER SHOT DOWN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) RUGBY, March 23. Late this afternoon an enemy aircraft dropped bombs at a place on the south coast of England . It is officially stated that there were a small number of casualties and some damage. During a sweep over the Channel by our fighters, one enemy fighter was destroyed without loss. Londoners today had the unusual sight of squadrons of fighters overhead. After showing themselves in connection with warships week, th£y‘ flew straight off towards Northern France. It was during this sweep that an enemy fighter, a Fockewulf 190, was shot down into the sea.
