SAVING PAPER

PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE SOUGHT. MR ILOTT VISITS MASTERTON. The need for taking every step to save paper was emphasised yesterday afternoon by Mr J. M. A. Hott, a member of the National Council for the Reclamation of Waste Material, when he met the Mayor of Masterton, Mr T. Jordan, and members of the Wairarapa Committee. Mr Hott made it clear that the position regarding paper supplies was a serious one and everyone should assist to the utmost to save paper. It was desired that regular supplies should be sent forward to Wellington from areas such as Masterton. to ensure the most economical means of dealing with waste paper. Efforts are being made in Masterton to secure another depot, in place of the one closed down recently on account of the building being required for another purpose. In the mesntinie, the pub* lie is asked to save paper and to hold it until a depot is established.
