WEDDING

SMITH—LOCHORE. The marriage took place recently at St. Luke’s Church, Greytown, of Noelene Anna, third daughter of Mr and Mrs G. E. Lochore, of Masterton, and Airman Pilot William John, younger son of Mrs and the late Mi' W. H. Smith, of Grey town. The Rev. J. C. Abbott conducted the service, and Mrs Vincent presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her brother, Mr J. D. Lochore, wore a beautiful gown of figured satin cut on princess lines, the skirt forming a long full train. Her veil, which fell in graceful folds over the face, was worn with a Juliet halo. She carried a shower bouquet of asters, lilies and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Mrs L. Strange, matron of honour, and Miss June Smith, Tauranga. Both wore blue taffeta frocks with shoulder length veils and carried bouquets of pink and blue asters and lilies. Lance-Corporal R. O. Smith, of Tauranga, carried out the duties of best man, and Lance-Corporal A. Anderson was groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with lucky horse-shoes by Rex Burrows (nephew of the bride) and Beverley McCarty (niece of the bridegroom). The reception was held at the Odd Fellows Hall where Mrs Lochore received the guests wearing a black ensemble relieved with an autumn tinted shoulder spray. She was assisted by Mrs Smith, the bridegroom’s mother, who was attired in a navy costume with navy accessories and a shoulder spray of autumn flowers. Airman Pilot and Mrs W. J. Smith later left for the south by plane, the bride travelling in a navy and white ensemble with navy accessories.
