SECRET SESSION
OFFICIAL REPORT ISSUED BY SPEAKER. I OPEN MEETING OF HOUSE TODAY. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) ■' WELLINGTON, This Day. Tlie secret session of the House of Representatives which began on Tuesday evening, to enable members to hear and discuss the latest developments in the war situation, was continued yesterday and was not completed till 10.30 o’clock last night. The House adjourned at that stage till 2.30 o’clock this afternoon, when it will meet in open session. The following official report of the secret session was issued by authority of Mi' Speaker:— “The Prime Minister reviewed the situation as it had developed in the Pacific since the date of the last meeting of the House. He gave particulars of the consultations between the representatives of the Dominion and the Australian Government and of the progress made in perfecting and coordinating the control of Allied operations in the Anzac area and in the Pacific generally. Particulars were given of the measures taken for improving the defence of this country and other places for which it is responsible and for the provision of the necessary arms and equipment. The Hon. D. G. Sullivan and the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, members of the War Cabinet, added detailsvof the consultations they had in Australia with political and military chiefs of that country and with military representatives'from the United States.” Twenty speakers took part in the discussion in addition to the Prime Minister.
