WEDDING WEBLEY—HOOPER. A pretty rainbow wedding took plate recently at the Presbyterian Church, Carterton, the contracting parties being Linda, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs W. F. Hooper, Carterton, and Russell, only son of Mr and Mrs S. Webley, Martinborough. The Rev. W. J. Couling officiated, and Miss V. Sorensen presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of white taffeta cut on simple lines, the skirt falling in a full train. Her tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white and pale pink dahlias and maidenhair fem. The bridesmaids were Misses Merle Hooper, sister of the bride (chief), and Isla Davidson. They were attired infrocks of pink and blue taffeta, respectively, cut on similar lines to that of the bride. They wore halos of frilled net and flowers, and carried bouquets to tone. Little Judy Higginson, niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl. She was attired in a frock of lemon taffeta with full gathered skirt dotted with pink and blue velvet flowers. She also wore’ a halo of frilled net and flowers and carried a posy to tone. The guests were later received at the home of the bride's parents, by the bride’s mother, who was dressed in a navy crepe frock and hat with a shoulder spray of gold dahlias. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a frock of black crepe and black hat with a shoulder spray of brick red dahlias. When Mr and Mrs Webley left on their honeymoon the bride was wearing a navy costume with navy accessories and' carried a fur coat. Their future home will be in Martinborough.
