DRIVEN BACK
ENEMY FORCE IN LIBYA. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) RUGBY, March 17. A communique issued by British 'Headquarters in Cairo states: “There was increased enemy movement in the forward area throughout yesterday. A strong enemy column, including tanks, moved forward in the Cherima area, but withdrew on the approach of our mobile forces. A successful action by a mixed force resulted in casualties being inflicted on the enemy west of Cherima. Our air forces successfully countered enemy air activity in the forward area.”
