KEEN DEMAND FOR WETHERS. A full yarding of ewes, wethers and lambs were offered by the Associated Auctioneers at their weekly sale yesterday. Almost a total clearance was effected. The demand for wethers was exceptionally keen. The market appeared to be erratic at times, especially for lambs. Good conditioned and good-mouthed ewes sold well up to late rates. Wethers met the best market yet this season, the supply being far short of the demand. Present indications point to a continued solid demand in this section. The lamb entry which comprised most of the yarding met a definitely easier market and at times it was difficult to line up values. Prices:—Fats: B.f. ewes 13s 7d; maiden ewes 19s; wethers 21s to 225; lambs 20s to 21s 6d. 2th ewes: a/c Tanglewood, 24s 8d; a/c Kahimingi, 22s 6d; a/c W. R. Buick, 225; To Parae, 245; others. 20s 6d to 21s Gd and 23s 9d. 4 and 6th ewes: 18s, 20s Gd to 20s lOd, a/c Speedy Bros., 18s 4d to 22s 9s. 4yr ewes: a/c L. Welch, 19s; others, 13s 4d to 17s 6d; 4th ewes, 22s to 23s 8d; syr ewes, 13s to 13s 8d; 2 and 4th wethers, 17s to 21s Id; other wethers, 20s Id. Lambs: B.f. lambs 15s 3d to 16s 10s; small 8s to 13s. W.w. lambs: A/c C. Welch 19s 2d; others, 10s 9d to 15s 5d and 17s 4d; small 8s 6d to 10s 2d; shorn ewe lambs. 16s Id; small 9s to 10s. Rams: Southdown. 1 to 3gns. Pigs: Weaners, 13s to 13s Gd.
