HOMING PIGEONS

MASTERTON CLUB. RACE FROM NAPIER. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a race from Napier, a distance of 125 miles. Owing to a strong northwesterly wind only two birds out of eight liberated reached home on the day. The following were the placings: L. Wickens’s “Ramona,” time 6hrs 12 mins 48secs, 1; J. Mayes’s “Black Chief,” time 6hrs 18 mins 45secs, 2. Next week a two-point race will be held from Napier and Dannevirke.
