SWIMMING SPORTS HELD YESTERDAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the local swimming baths yesterday afternoon the Swimming Club entertained the soldiers present at afternoon tea. The judge of the swimming events was Mr G. Cundy, the results being as follows:—Plate dive: Schofield 1. Long plunge, novelty: Webster 1, Findlay 2, Hankey 3. 50 yards race: A. McCracken 1, H. Hankey 2, Bennett 3; time, 33secs. 25 yards handicap: Bennett 1, McCracken 2, Hankey 3; time, 15secs. Relay race: Webster, Munshead, McGuffie and Hawkins 1, Marshall, Patchett, Hastings and Laisen 2; time, 63secs. Red Cross Society. Another successful euchre party was held yesterday by the Red Cross Society. Messrs Lawson, Baker and Skipage tied for the first prize and handed it back to the Society. The competition winners were: Mesdames Elliot and Sim and Miss Goodrick. Gifts were received from Mesdames J. Holland, H. Lawson and Misses Goodrick and Joan Hunter. Personal. Mr and Mrs A. P. Grant, Wellington, were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs H. C. Hunter. Bowling, L. G. Benton, W. H. Rowles, J. Thompson and H. Bloxam beat J. Hutana, W. Robinson, H. McNamara and J. Higgison in a champion rinks match played during the weekend. J. Thompson beat H. Rolls in the singles. COSY THEATRE TOMORROW’S PROGRAMME. The programme tomorrow night will be headed by the outstanding drama, “Another Dawn,” in which Errol Flynn and Kay Francis have the leading roles. The picture is recommended by the Censor for Adults.
