LINESMAN’S DEATH
CRUSHED BY GIRDER. FATALITY AT SUB-STATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A Public Works linesman, Ronald Kohika, was crushed to death when a steel girder weighing over one ton fell at the Pahautanui sub-station late on Saturday afternoon. The girder, which was being erected to carry some of the electrical equipment, slipped and pinned Kohika underneath. A doctor was summoned, but death must have been instantaneous.
